If you've planned something special for your community or congregation this Easter, it's probably with the expectation of seeing new faces visiting your Church, maybe for the first time (right?).
Over the past few years, we've had many opportunities to customize our Facebook profile with a cool frame - whether it is to support a favourite sports team, or showing support to a cause.
Recently, Facebook has made a new feature available, allowing us to design your own frame!
Putting an eye-catching and inviting frame around your profile picture makes it really easy for you to let your followers know what's happening in your Church, without even having to click on a button!
(By the way, did I say it was free?)
In 1.2.3 steps, here is how easy it is to create your own Facebook Picture Frame:
1. Design your frame - Create your own frame with your favourite designing tool - Try Photoshop or PicMonkey - with a transparent background.
A size of about 1080px x 1080px such as the one you'd use for Instagram will work perfectly.
2. Open Facebook's Camera Effect Page, and drag and drop your design into the Frame Studio, ensuring it is at the right place (i.e. Not hiding the whole of someone's face).
You also then have the choice of selecting the owner of your new design - this could be your Church's page, your pastor, or yourself for instance.
3. Finish the process by moving on to the next page and clicking on "PUBLISH".
You can now use your profile and share it with your friends and followers!
A few extras to help you go the extra mile...
*** Is your Church on the larger side? Why not make a different frame for each Ministry? They'll love it! But, stay true to your branding!
*** Make sure to incorporate a "try it" button under your frame, making it easier for your followers to use it. Without this, they'll have to go find it for themselves - a reason to keep your frame name simple.
*** Who is your Church's main influencer on social media? This is the main person you need to share the frame with. Often, that'll be one of your Pastors, as they tend to build significantly more engagement on social media.
*** Can't find your frame after publishing? Don't panic... It can take a few hours to appear. Check you have set your publishing time to your region, or publish now. Still nothing? Log off - leave it alone, check back in a few hours.
*** Finally, once you've mastered the tool, take the time to create a series of frames tailored to your major upcoming events and make sure to add it to your social media strategy!
We look forward to seeing your frames around on Facebook!
